Meet Dr. Laney Vaughan
Dr. Laney Vaughan’s path to dentistry reflects her dedication to creating positive change through healthcare. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Wake Forest University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude, and then went on to achieve her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry. Her academic background reflects a commitment to excellence, but her experience extends far beyond the classroom.
During her dental training, Dr. Vaughan was also a member of a traveling dental mission group, where she provided essential care to underserved communities in North Carolina. This experience shaped her compassionate approach to dentistry and instilled in her a deep appreciation for community care and building connections with her patients. Dr. Vaughan’s work with this group emphasized the importance of access to quality dental care for everyone, and she is excited to bring this same commitment to her role at Tidewater Family Dentistry.
Dr. Laney Vaughan’s favorite part of general dentistry is building lasting relationships with her patients. She takes pride in fostering a sense of comfort and trust, ensuring each patient knows they are receiving care from a dentist who truly has their best interest at heart. She has a particular passion for restorative dentistry, helping patients achieve healthy, beautiful smiles that last.
Outside the Office
A native of Virginia Beach, Dr. Laney Vaughan is excited to return to the Newport News area to serve a community she has always loved. She’s the oldest of three sisters and has long cherished family and community ties in Virginia. In her free time, Dr. Vaughan is an active, self-proclaimed “self-entertainer” with a variety of interests that keep her busy and fulfilled. She enjoys photography, sewing and taking on creative home projects. She’s also an avid pickleball player, fishing enthusiast and devoted dog mom to her Cavapoo, Habibi, who accompanies her on many of her adventures.
Dr. Vaughan brings the same warmth and dedication to her community as she does to her practice. Her unique perspective and dedication to patient well-being make her an excellent fit for the Tidewater Family Dentistry team.
